When/where/why do you (not) wear a Yarmulke?

Background: I visited a historic synagogue with a non-Jewish friend and they asked if they should wear a Yarmulke to show respect/modesty. I figured many of us wear a Kippah for those reasons, but also that those are not the only reasons. The experience made me curious. So without further ado…

Why do you wear your Yarmulke? What does it mean to you? (If you don’t wear one, I still want to hear from you)

When/where do you wear a Yarmulke? When/where do you NOT wear a Yarmulke?

Also include relevant details as you see fit such as your Movement of Judaism, gender, country, the style of Yarmulke you wear, etc.
