Since I was a kid I’ve always had a passion for Greek and Roman mythology and cultures. I grew up in a place with very strong Roman heritage so I always felt naturally drawn to it and it became a special interest of mine. I don’t glorify them or anything, but I’m just super interested in the stories, the aesthetics, the history, etc.
Especially regarding the mythology, at what point does that interest cross a line and become idolatry? I don’t believe in Greek gods, so for example would it be idolatry for me to buy an Athena figurine to decorate my house? I just like the aesthetics and the stories of these characters, it’s the same as why I like Superman or Lord of the Rings really. Would that be okay?
