What does the name Yevzel mean and are there any alternative versions of it?

I found a death record from 1887 in Rostov-na-Donu. The individual’s name was Sender Yevzelev Shur (Сендер Евзелев Шур). In other words, Sender Shur, son of Yevzel. I’ve never heard of such a name in my research and I can’t find many other examples of the name either. Could it be another version of the name Ayzik or Yevsey, or something else?
