What Did You Learn From Your Seder?

What did you learn from the experience of assembling (or attending) your Seder?

I’ll start. I was focussed on many of the worldly minutia of routine life before Passover. I had never hosted a Seder before and in preparation wanted everything to be just right, and organic and gluten free too! But when it dawned on me that I was running out of time to prepare it and that the day would not postpone itself for me, I was forced to cobble it together with whatever was available.

It was highly imperfect and full of improvisation. And that was what made it beautiful—for it mirrored our ancestors’ urgent and unplanned Exodus from Egypt and the lives they cobbled together after. Happy Passover!
