Wearing a blue and white striped shirt

I was wondering whether it was inappropriate to wear a blue and white striped shirt as it might provide holocaust survivors or even the children of holocaust survivors a painful memory of concentration camps.

The reason why I am asking is because once I wore a brown coloured shirt to an event and a woman approached me telling me that it was inappropriate for a jew to wear a brown shirt as it reminds people of the Nazi brownshirts militia.

Often my non-jewish friends and acquaintances would ask me if I would ever get a tattoo and I would tell them no, for several reasons. One of the main things I tell them is that many of our ancestors were forced to he tattooed in concentration camps and so many Jews would never get a tattoo. Obviously there are halachic reasons as well. I would never judge any jew who wishes to get a tattoo, but I was also wondering if others feel the same?

Anyway, I would love to hear people’s thoughts on the colour/pattern of clothes and tattoos and whether it could be considered inappropriate or offensive.
