Out of all the dead-end forms of Judaism I have read about they seemed like the coolest.
From what I understood they explicitly were against the idea of an afterlife, arguing instead that G-d gives rewards or punishments in the current life–which to mean sounds like a much more practical philosophy to adopt.
The idea of a central temple with authoritative power seems more efficient and organized.
