Some neat things I noticed about my (not-so-religious) Jewish school’s calendar for next school year:

  1. Only 4 fall holiday off-days due to the calendar: Erev Rosh HaShannah, Yom Kippur, Erev Sukkot, Hoshanah Rabbah
  2. A Rosh Chodesh Tevet Chagigah for the first time ever since I (class of 2025) started high school
  3. Purim celebrations being the Friday BEFORE Purim due to the calendar.
  4. Having Mimouna as an off-day even though it falls on May 1st because, according to 1 of my teachers, “We always have Mimouna as an off-day.”
  5. Graduation being BEFORE Shavuot due to the calendar.
  6. The end of classes being BEFORE Shavuot due to the calendar.
