So without getting into details I have a Jewish colleague whom I really need to keep our relationship strictly professional. The more I get to know this colleague the more I realize that hanging out outside of work wouldn’t be a good fit. This person is a lovely human being but we have some extreme ideological differences that would come up in a social setting. I’m not really interested in attempting to hearing this person’s perspectives and I have no doubt this person isn’t interested in mine. Colleague recently approached me about “hey I heard you host an amazing Shabbat dinner- I’d love to come sometime!” I said “ha thanks yep crazy busy right now.” Any advice on how to navigate this?
