Question from outside perspective.

recently I (M) have decided to enter into a secular university in central Israel {tel aviv}. a few years ago I became religious after being raised in public school in the states. My question is, if one wears a kippa (serugah dark color) and doesn’t keep shomer negiah –> would that be considered a chilul Hashem? I personally dont hold even hugging to be such an “sexual” thought when it comes to a friend. I know it is problematic to do according to halachic standard, but even if one is to do it, would it be situational, e.g. if its awkward vs natural etc.
