Hello everyone,
I am trying to figure out the correct halakha for retzuot being too short and was hoping someone could help point me in the right direction.
I have been using my old youth tefillin ever since my main set got damaged. Unfortunately the arm straps do not have enough length to wrap the Chabad way.
But I saw online that you CAN wrap with straps that aren’t long enough. https://www.thesofercenter.com/detailed-laws-on-tefillin-retzuos-tefililn-straps.html it says: “If the strap is not long enough, a Brachah can still be made if the strap is long enough to tighten around the upper arm, do one wrap down the arm and wrap three times around the middle finger.”
So my question is:
How do I wrap with straps too short?
Is it only once around bicep, seven around forearm, then skip the hand wrap and go straight to the three times around the finger?
Thank you all and I appreciate any help or guidance you can provide
