Question about Hebrew names and my given name

I’m in kind of a weird situation here and I’d like some advice. As I mentioned in an earlier post, my maternal great grandmother was Jewish but I was not raised as such and found Judaism on my own. Because of this I was never given a Hebrew name. I feel like I’m in a weird limbo because those raised as Jews are given a Hebrew name as an infant, and converts get to choose their name. Can I just choose one or am I doomed to be the only Chris at any synagogue I ever go to? Thanks in advance.
