Pesach/Passover at Costco

A few people were surprised to learn that Costco has some great kosher offerings this time of year. It’s winding down, but you can still find great stuff. Don’t rely on Costco though because what they stock can vary greatly from warehouse to warehouse and can depend on the size of your surrounding observant communities.

The big thing most folks I know stock up on is wine, prices can vary from my pics too but should give you a rough idea.

#1 wine choice = Bartenura Moscato @ https://i.imgur.com/wcijE2x.jpg

That stuff is great and if you’re not particularly observant but find yourself invited to and attending a seder you don’t want to show up empty handed to, this would be my first choice. It’s mevushal so can go toe to toe with any rabbi or host you’ll encounter.

Here are some other wines I saw, enjoy them at your own risk: https://i.imgur.com/XTQaAMp.jpg

They also have a variety of snacks and desserts, some of which I’ve tried, none of which I can wholeheartedly recommend. If you’re trying to bring some form of dessert then your best bet will likely be a nearby kosher market or bakery that’s baking especially for Pesach.

Next up, matzah!

They have the Manischewitz matzah, sure, but be the matzah hero and bring some real deal matzah, not that uniform machine produced stuff. It’ll be a great talking point. For even more talking points on handmade shmura matzah that your great grandparents probably ate, see here, here, and here.

I’d love to see what anyone else found at their local Costco.

Chag Sameach!
