Older generations, how would you react/feel if your child married a non-Jewish?

I am a non-Jewish woman. I am an atheist and I have a very strong feeling regarding my religious identity, I would never be able to commit to any other religion again. It is simply not an option to me and it’s a very important decision to me.

My boyfriend is Jewish. He is not particularly religious, however he still has a strong sense of his Jewish identity. He wears the Star of David, eats Kosher foods and even prays occasionally when in gatherings with heavily religious distant relatives of his. So for him, his ancestry, roots and Jewish background is important. He is aware about my position and we never had an issue with it so far.

Recently, there has been a lot of conversations coming from him about the possibility of us getting married. As far as I am aware, it is really frowned upon in Judaism that a man would marry a non-Jewish woman.

I never spoke to his family about their relationship with religion or anything, I always assumed it could be a bit impolite. They are nice people and they seem to like me a lot, my boyfriend thinks so too. They are gen X, his grandmother is from the baby boomers generation. However, now I naturally think a lot if they would tolerate me as their son’s wife and will be accepting towards his choice.

I know my boyfriend would reassure me that they would totally be fine with his choice but ofc he would say that haha. So I am just interested to see how people who practice Judaism would generally answer.
