Alright, so basically as the title says, my girlfriend really wants to convert. I’m freaking stoked because it’s never been important to me and neither me nor my family has asked her to. She just really wants to! We’re getting ready to find a rabbi now, but our question is basically:
During an orthodox conversion are we not allowed to touch/have sex? Must it all stop?
From what I’ve read, the stipulation is “establish an emotional and spiritual connection with each other,” and I would say we are way beyond that. We dated in high school for about 4 years, broke up, and have been talking/seeing each other for the last 11 months. I’ve sent a text to my rabbi, and we’re going to ask another when we meet with her, but just want to see what other people may have come across.
