looking for some advice from fellow gap year takers (or even parents!!)

TLDR: I leave for college in a week and don’t really know who to go to on campus about my anxiety compared to madrichot support.

I did a gap year in Israel this past year so I do know what it’s like to be away from home (living in Israel post Oct 7th and choosing to STAY despite the war going on above our heads) but college is a different ball game you know? if you’re not familiar we had what’s called Madrichot (essentially “older sisters” or camp counselors) and they were there to talk to when it was 1 AM and I couldn’t sleep or when I had crippling anxiety. my madricha who was assigned to my apartment specifically was literally like my big sister. who just knew when I needed a hug or a shoulder to cry on, but you don’t have that at college. I know there’s counseling and I do see a therapist weekly but I’m really scared and just the thought of it brings knots to my stomach and feelings of throwing up. the gap year environment and the college campus environment are SO DIFFERENT. I would appreciate advice or can sympathize please please share!
