Jewish demographics shifting towards Israel.

Our monthly essay is on Israeli demographics, specifically, how Jewish birthrates in Israel buck global trends by rising. One of the points Ofir Haivry (the author of the essay) makes is that a plurality of Jews now live in Israel—something unprecedented since the Second Temple period. Another point he makes is that soon an absolute majority of Jews will live in Israel—unprecedented since the First Temple period.

How do you think this has/is/will affect the diaspora? What about relations between Israel and the diaspora? Haivry writes, “within the next generation, Israel will become by far the undisputed center of gravity of Jewish life.” Do you guys agree?
