 | Years ago, saw this Tumblr post, where someone talks about a Jewish story in which a wealthy man asks a rabbi to put him in touch with some people who can help him build an orphanage. He later returns and tells the rabbi he decided against doing it, since he realized he was only doing it so he would be admired as a philanthropist, to which the rabbi tells him, “do you think the orphans will care what your motives were? Build the orphanage!” This story really changed the way I think, so I’ve been trying to find it again, to no avail.
