I want to rejoice at Assad's fall. But I fear the strongmen of the new Syria

After four decades of exile, I dream of returning to my Kurdish neighborhood in Damascus, of kneeling at my mother’s grave. But how can I trust the new Islamist rulers of Damascus and their Turkish protector?
