I know that Jews believe in the Messiah, and that we call him the Moshiach. What else do we know of the Messiah? Does he come after destruction? Do we wait for him or try to hasten his coming? What is the difference b/w Moshiach and the Messianic Era?

Hi all and Shana Tova. Hope I’m not asking this question too close to shabbat for those of you who live in Israel. So, I had a Reform Jewish education, but it wasn’t a very good one, so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I’ve been trying to learn more (myjewishlearning.com is teaching me a lot), but I’m kind of confused Can anyone tell me more? Thanks
