Ok so the wording is awkward but here we go: At almost every young Jewish adult event I attend to outside of synagogue and simchas I see an awkward dynamic. The dynamic is single women that are there with their friends OPEN to meeting someone but are at the event to socialize. Then I see single men who have hawk like focus on “I AM HERE TO MEET A WOMAN THIS IS MY GOAL.” The question is what can be done to fix this from an event organizer perspective? More games? More organized introductions? I know from personal experience what larger things can be done (women only programming) but at events themselves what can we do to make this more comfortable?
