How do we rectify Leviticus 18:22 with our Jewish beliefs?

First off, I want to say that I’m all on board to give equal rights and non prejudice to Jewish LGBT people. Please let me know how the verse in Leviticus 18:22 gets rectified with Jewish beliefs as a whole. Do we tell G-d that they are wrong? Is there a deeper meaning that explains the passage? If we ignore that passage, why do we care about the rest of the Torah? I just want to learn and understand more. Please be civil in any disagreements. Here is the passage: “Do not lie with a male as one lies with a woman; it is an abhorrence.” Leviticus 18:22
