How can we reconcile scientific inaccuracies in books with religion?

I’m reading Yesodei haTorah by the Rambam and, just as an example, he’s writing that the Earth is about 170 times smaller than the Sun. This is, obviously, inaccurate. Or, he writes that stars are aware of themselves just like angels.

I don’t expect these Gdolim to know about current scientific discoveries but I think this might be problematic and I’d be interested to read Orthodox viewpoints on this matter.
