My parents were very abusive. My father was the primary perpetrator, but my mother was complacent. I find in Jewish communities I often receive strange responses when I say I’m not in contact with my family. I never speak poorly of them. When pressed, I’ll simply state the fact of they were abusive. How does one navigate honoring abusive parents?
