Hi, I’m a christian and I’d like to learn a bit!

I’ve never met a jewish person, but I’m really interested in learning a few things. If you don’t mind, I have a few questions.

First one :

Some christians take the old testament literally and some don’t. Is this the case in Judaism as well? I’ve read christian scholars claiming that early Jews didn’t take the Old testmant literally, so I wanted to confirm.

Second one:

Are there any major differences between the Bible’s OT translation and the Tanakh? I read somewhere that reading it in Hebrew is important because of numeric values and other things, but I can’t really confirm myself….

Third one:

Is it also Jewish tradition that Moses wrote the pentateuch (genesis – Deuteronomy) ? If so, is this commonly believed, like in christianity?

Fourth one:

What is your view of the afterlife? I understand Heaven and Hell aren’t really concepts in the Tanakh, just Hades and Sheol. Right?

Fifth one:

Do you still practice sacrificies for redemption of sin and burn fat to please G-d?

Last one:

What is your view in people treating G-d in the original Hebrew name ?
