Help with the history of ‘Ouma’..

Is there anyone in the group here that is familiar with the affectionate word ‘Ouma’ to refer to a Grandmother as? Particularly one who you are truly bonded to and have a close relationship with?

It may ultimately be meaningless; likely is; just trying to chase down some terms used in our family.
