I was recently hanging out with some goyish friends in a loud bar, and thought one of them said “cut the pickle”. I immediately responded “tickle tickle”, and they looked at me like I was crazy. Granted I was crazy because she fully didn’t say cut the pickle, but it got me thinking if it’s an Ashkenazi Jewish thing!
Later I said cut the pickle to a half Moroccan/half Mizrahi Jewish friend, and she responded tickle tickle too!! So from my very unscientific research it seems like it’s a Jewish thing, possibly across the diaspora or just in my local Jewish community? Has anyone else heard this before and where are you from?
Are there any other funny/cute Jewish expressions/rhymes that you didn’t realize were Jewish?
