Do you consider the re-establishment of Israel a fulfillment of prophecy?

After almost 2,000 years of Israel ceasing to exist, it was re-established in 1948 via the British mandate. It’s not difficult to find someone arguing the re-establishment was a fulfillment of prophecy, but sometimes you see folks saying these things in hindsight.

Nonetheless it does seem miraculous. I’ll hear things like “the British wanted to make it happen for religious reasons” but if that were truly the case and it wasn’t something from G-d, why didn’t the crusaders who took and held the land for 100 years re-establish Israel as a nation then?

As a non Jew looking in, I’m curious what does the Jewish community think of this?
