We are expecting a baby in August. Husband is an Orthodox Jew and I converted to Reform. He was raised very observant but is not at all like he used to be as a child (obviously lol). I would like the baby to be Orthodox leaving my options as me converting or my baby converting. However me converting- it’s just something that I don’t feel right or sincere for myself, so that’s that. I understand that newborns can be converted and this is something that I do, however, really want for him/her. How difficult is it to have my baby convert? Is it appropriate for us to contact Orthodox shuls in the area to ask, though we don’t belong to one? Thanks.
