Just out of curiosity, If an ethnically half-Jewish atheist wanted to convert to be considered properly Jewish by law… what would the response be from a conservative or orthodox rabbi? Is a conversion to clear up legal issues as a Jew allowed or do you have to actually pretend to believe in God and all that?
