Born and raised in a Christian family. How to officially move to Judaism

Location USA – I was born and raised in a conservative Christian family but always considered myself more as someone that follows Judaism than just the Bible. Are Jewish(religion) as welcoming as Christian churches? Are there any cults like there are in churches that I should be aware of and avoid?

I am also a person of Color (born in India) and am married to an asian so my kid is interracial. I was wondering would all these things make jewish(as in religion or as in ethnicity) people not so accepting. Not that I need people to accept or validate me but I want to make sure my kid doesn’t feel rejected because Judaism primarily has jewish(as in ethnicity) people and they are chosen by God per scriptures.
