Advice on study material?

Sorry if this isn’t the place to post this. Also, howdy! Long time lurker- like spiders in the nooks and crannies of my kitchen, I mean no harm, I just observe (and try to figure out what you guys are saying when it’s in Hebrew).

I have wanted to convert for, oh, about a decade or more now. Unfortunately, with family and current circumstances that’s not exactly a viable option. I’m also dreadfully broke and don’t think I’d actually be able to afford it for another year or more at least. Even if I could shuffle money around to be converted, I can barely afford the air to breathe. In the meantime, what reading material would you guys recommend? In addition to the whole belief system and practices and what all, I’d like to learn Hebrew for sure. I think it’s a lovely tongue and I look forward to convincing my dumb dyslexic brain that we’re reading backwards on purpose this time.
