A story i remember, but i dont know from where.

Hi everybody. I broadly remember reading a story where someone discusses with a Rabbi about honoring the sabbath, it was something like the rebbe saying that yes, if a ox falls into the well pull him out, but if he falls into the well every sabbath, sell the ox or fill the well. I took from it that yes, emergencies happen and if they happen help, but try to change the circumstances so they dont always get in the way of what you want or should do. A few days ago i remembered the quote, found out that it may relate to luke 14,5, so maybe the scenario was a discussion with a christian?

Well, i just wanted to know if anybody knows the quote. My hottest take is that it might be from a book of Salcia Landmann. But i dont have those books here, so i cant check.
