Hey, I’m just here to ask about what kind of afterlife beliefs are held within Judaism. Specifically, is Judaism dualistic or monistic?
I’ve always considered myself to be a physicalist, believing that all conscious activity originates within the brain and ends with it too; this belief is also held by a majority of philosophers. As a result, it’s difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea of what a “soul” is supposed to be or how it could conceivably work. If possible, I would like to understand it better, if only for the comfort of considering the possibility that death may not be the end.
