My mother is at the end of her life, and we’re trying to figure out what to do about sitting shiva. My sister, father and I are all in the same house, and there is a bit of a hoarding situation that goes beyond what can be taken care of in the next couple of weeks. My elderly father is on steroids which make him immunocompromised, so its best not to have a bunch of people in the house anyway. We’re not close with any extended family (either relationship-wise, or proximity-wise), and don’t really know of any friends in the area who we could impose on to host us. Has anyone ever run into this, or have any unique ideas of where we can go? The temple does funerals, but not shivas. We’re Reform, and most likely only going to sit for 2 days. (please be kind about it not being for the full shiva period)
