What do we call a Rosh Hashanah greeting card — in Yiddish or Hebrew?
Growing up around grandparents who spoke Yiddish, I coulda sworn we call it a shana teva — pronounced SHA-na TAY-va, not sha-NAH to-VAH like the Hebrew greeting.
But Google A(rtificial) I(ncompetence) insists the card itself is called simply a Shanah Tovah card (well, yeah) — even when I try to coax it into searching for “shana teva” per se.
Am I wrong?
