I’m planning on getting part of Exodus 15:1 tattooed on my arm (yes I know I’m not being a good Jew, my Savta will scold me you don’t have to). The part I want tattooed is אשירה ליהוה כי–גאה גאה (I will sing to the Lord for he is exulted) (and yes it is also a line from a song in the Prince of Egypt).
What I need help with is the best way to transcribe the tetragrammaton (which is read aloud as Ad-nai), if it wasn’t for the ל at the beginning I would do it as יי.
Should I just have it written as ליי? What do people think is the best way to do this?
