| | I redid Leviathan to make it a matching larger size with the other ones. This is the first time I’ve done anything with these characters that wasn’t Jewish holiday-themed. I wanted to do something Jewish related where each image could still tell a story without the viewer necessarily being versed enough in Jewish culture/lore to know what the three creatures were. I did these in watercolor, and they are the largest canvases I have ever used watercolor for. I started these almost two and a half months ago. Not longer after finishing Behemoth, I was leaving a friend’s house with the beginnings of the Ziz drawing when I was jumped, beat up and had my valuable belongings (except the drawing in the portfolio case, as the thief saw no monetary value in it) stolen from me. I ended up with broken fingers on my drawing hand and it slowed up the process more than I wanted it to, the injuries still making it hard to add a lot of details I had sketched out initially. They’re not where I want them to be, but it is what it is. submitted by /u/Imaginary-Cricket903 |
