It’s thanksgiving and the yiddishkeit is strong with my family. Today my cousin’s and I decided to take a “walk” before the thanksgiving meal. As one might imagine the smoke and debates flowed freely.
One topic of debate I present before everyone is this. From the Jewish viewpoint are we souls that have bodies? Or bodies that have been endowed with souls? The overwhelming opinion was that the cousin who asked this was an idiot and was smacked upside his head for trying to cause existential dread before post meal coffee.
