| | Hey everyone, This may be a long shot, but I’m on a mission and could really use some help. I recently came across this incredible collection of Passover Haggadot (link included), and I just made a Reddit account hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. One of the Haggadot in this collection comes from the Mountain Jewish community of Azerbaijan and is written in Judeo-Tat a language that is almost extinct. I am part of this community, and in recent years, we’ve been experiencing a religious and spiritual revival. At one point in history, we had many rabbis, but years of persecution under the Soviet Union led to their imprisonment or deaths, and as a result, much of our Jewish heritage was nearly forgotten. I believe that having this Haggadah would help many members of our community reconnect with their heritage and strengthen their sense of identity. My goal is to somehow get Mr. Durchslag to see this post/message in the hopes of obtaining a digital copy of this Haggadah so it can be shared with my community. If anyone has advice, connections, or ideas on how this message might reach him, I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you so much! Just to clarify I am not asking or expecting his contact information, but rather just to show him this message. So far, I have tried messaging a synagogue I saw he was affiliated with, as well as the University of Chicago (the Judeo-Tat Haggadah is not yet in their collection) and the Caxton Club. So far, I haven’t had any luck. submitted by /u/Wise-Complex6499 |
