Anyone know the oldest source/reference to Simchat Torah dancing? Specifically, the Orthodox(?) Ashkenazi(?) style of holding hands and dancing in circles with coordinated, rhythmic stamping.
*Edit* I realize that this style is not exclusive to Simchat Torah, that’s just the occasion that’s on my mind, for obvious reasons.
