Hello all. I am a college student, writing an opinion piece for a class that I am in. My piece is about ongoing event scheduling during the High Holidays, and how my college has a reoccurring problem with scheduling important things on Jewish Holidays.
My teacher wants us to use “I” statements, and use “us” instead of “students”. My issue is, I’m not Jewish. At least, not officially. I’m going through the conversion process, but haven’t finished it and won’t be sitting for a Beit Din for at least another year.
So, when writing statements like “for us, the holiday season has just ended” would it be appropriate to use “us”?? Or should I use “for Jewish students”?
Thanks for the help!
