Shema, Yisrael (listen, y’all)

I just said my morning shema praying at the kotel for the first time and was suddenly struck I was talking to you. It’s not a prayer delivered to g-d in the first person like most of our brachot. It’s a call to each other of our shared bond. Our faith, love, soul, and deeds are one. So I wanted to transliterate the prayer into my 21st century life and come here and say listen, Am Yisrael, it’s another day I am proud to live with you no matter what comes. Am Yisrael chai.
