I’m planning a short visit to Los Angeles later this month to visit my (Ashkenazi) fiancé, and am hoping to connect with the Sephardic community there. I’m Lebanese-Sephardic by heritage, but for the past almost two years I’ve been a member of a local Moroccan Sephardic synagogue on the east coast.
For whatever it’s worth, my primary languages are French and Arabic, so I’d love to connect with any fellow North African peeps. I realize LA has a substantial Farsi-speaking footprint, and while I adore my Iranian peeps, I’ll be completely removed from my own community for some time during this trip, and so will probably long for a sliver of comforting familiarity while visiting. I’d love any recommendations for Sephardic communities, synagogues, or events that are welcoming to visitors. Thank you in advance!
