Question on placing a mezuzah

Hi everyone,

My non-jewish colleague/boss was gifted a mezuzah by his close Jewish friend, with the intent of him placing it on his office door. I’m the only Jewish member of the team at the moment, though there are other Jewish employees at the workplace. So there would occasionally be Jewish people in that room. He is very honored to have received the gift, and has asked me if I could place it for him.

I would check first to make sure that there is a real scroll in the mezuzah and that it’s not just a souvenir. But if he was gifted a kosher mezuzah by a Jewish friend with the intent of it being hung on his office doorpost, can I hang it up for him?

PS – happy Hanukkah and I hope everyone enjoys their Chinese food tonight
