Loved my shul’s Kol Nidre service and especially when our rabbi gave sermon on loneliness. I cried a little bit when our rabbi gave the sermon and how many people in our community feel broken. I’ve been struggling with very negative thoughts, mainly with childhood issues and ongoing emotional trauma and abuse, my brain injuries, retinopathy of prematurity and gender dysphoria. It meant a lot for me to be able to go and was the highlight of my day. Even though I’m deeply mentally ill my local Jewish community still accepts me wholeheartedly.
