Kippah code?

I am wondering what different kippah types mean?

I know that black velvet means more religious and that colorful knitted means more modern.

What do large knitted mean? What do black cloth mean? I see these a lot actually. What do leather mean?

Maybe im overthinking it and its just different hats?

Edit: I am not asking what kippahs you wear I am asking what different kippahs symbolize in terms of communities.
