How the Nazi pogrom of Kristallnacht became just another political meme

80 years since the November Pogrom targeting Jews in Germany and Austria, the term ‘Kristallnacht’ has become a political weapon for both left and right. Is this a welcome engagement with the historical record, or a grotesque exploitation of it?
