Long story, but my grandmother is an abusive monster, she treated my Bubbe (great grandmother) horribly and stole ALL of her things, sold anything of value, and only gave my financially struggling mom some costume jewlery. The money doesn’t matter so much as the sentimental things, I found a Chai necklace in the little costume jewlery bag. Does the type of metal matter? I sorely want to have this connection with her and Judaism, but I’m wondering how much the type of metal matters for a Chai pendant?
