Would it be okay for me to pray the Shema?

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a restful Shabbat! I am not Jewish, but I’ve been interested in Judaism for a while and have contemplated possibly converting in the future. My current circumstances make it difficult to get in contact with a rabbi, so speaking with one is not possible for me yet. I think the Shema Yisrael prayer is very beautiful, and I believe reciting it could help me deepen my connection with G-d. But of course, seeing as I’m not Jewish, I don’t want to be disrespectful if I’m not allowed to recite this. Do you think it would be okay for me to pray the Shema?
