What if I’m doing the wrong thing ? (Spiritual guidance needed)

I am in a situation where I found out someone has been taking advantage of me. This person is ill intended, and has been for some time, but they don’t know I know. I have no doubts about this.

I am planning on cutting ties with them, however, there is a project we had been working on together for many months. I want to see it through and cut ties with them afterwards.

Everyone whom I seeked for advice told me to see it through and to not worry about this person. To focus on my growth. Despite having different relationships to me, none have differing opinions.

I do not have a rabbi I can seek at the moment so I want to seek advice from this community.

If I see this project through instead of putting a stop to it now, would this make me just as bad as them ? I am conflicted.
